The Bay Corners Cozy Mystery series was born when three author friends shared their love of cozies and wished they had time to do a series the way they liked, with lots of books published quickly so that there would always be another one right around the corner.
We set the stories in a corner of venerable old Charleston, South Carolina, a city we love, and the amateur sleuths are three friends and local business owners. Each book is told from the point of view of one of the friends, making the novels slightly different and fun.
Nancy Knight writes Jazz Montgomery, theatre owner and part time assistant to a bounty hunter. Her theatrical background makes her a pro at disguises, and her daring nature gets her into trouble. Luckily, her dog Elvis, a standard poodle, is there to help.
Maureen Hardegree writes Rhiannon Penrith, who inherited a bookstore and the red macaw that comes with it. Rhia has a large family that includes a trouble-prone mother. Recently widowed, she is also coming to grips with her new, unexpected life as owner of a bookstore and a colorful (in more ways than one) pet.
Berta Platas writes Carmen Acevedo, a baker who renovated a derelict building into a Cuban bakery with an upstairs apartment. The bakery is Carmen’s defiant stand against her Miami family’s magical traditions, but when she uses some of that magic to help solve a murder, she reawakes the bond with her past, with unexpected results.
